The International Education Exchange Council (IEEC) offers a variety of leadership opportunities from president to treasurer to committee chairs to event leaders. Regardless of your role, all officers, members, chairs, treasurer and presidents work together across different cultural styles and approaches to form the IEEC.
Presidents and Treasurer
The IEEC is overseen by two presidents. The International IEEC President is an international student studying at SF State on a J-1 visa. The Domestic IEEC President is a degree-seeking student at SF State (American or international F-1 student) who has previously participated in an SF State Abroad program. The two presidents are more than the face of the organization; they also work to bring people together to support IEEC’s mission.
The Treasurer is a critical position within IEEC. The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring that IEEC remains financially sound and that it is able to raise more money than it spends each semester. This person must work very closely with both of the IEEC presidents and the committee chairs.
Committee Chairs
The leadership core of IEEC comes from the committees. Each committee has its own chair and scope of responsibility within IEEC. The committee chair is responsible for organizing the committee to ensure that they are able to work together towards achieving the committee's goals and IEEC's mission.
Event Leaders
IEEC committees are responsible for various events and activities throughout the semester. Committees will often need to appoint event leaders to take charge of the organization and planning of the event while working with the rest of the committee, committee, chair and IEEC's presidents. If this sounds like you, join the committee where you want to make the most impact!
