They also have some t-shirts with “San Francisco” written, so if you want to buy t-shirts as a souvenir, I recommend checking out Nike SF. For those who are interested in street fashion, Supreme will also be a gripping place to shop. As we are students, their clothing might feel kind of expensive. However, I think their hats are much more affordable and SO cute. I recommend going there with friends and try some beanies and caps. You can try everything on, but they don’t have any fitting rooms, so keep this in mind before going there. Also, there’s a huge Apple store that doesn’t have a visible door when it is open, which is super cool. It’s always fun to look around for new technology and cute accessories there!
Hello everyone! Today, I am going to write about where and what to shop in San Francisco. To briefly introduce myself, I chose Union Square, Japan Town, and Fillmore as the Top 3 places to enjoy shopping. I will also talk about what to eat or what to do while shopping!
Union Square, the Center of San Francisco
First of all, I would like to talk about shopping in Union Square, which everyone might be familiar with. Some of my favorite brands to look around in Union Square are Nike and Supreme! Nike SF, which has six floors, is a very interesting place for sneakers lovers. They have a variety of cool sneakers all the time. I always stop by Nike whenever I go to Union Square to check out new sneakers and clothing they have.
I recommend going there with friends and trying some beanies and caps. You can try everything on, but they don’t have any fitting rooms, so keep this in mind before going there. Also, there’s a huge Apple store that doesn’t have a visible door when it is open, which is super cool. It’s always fun to look around for new technology and cute accessories there!
Besides shopping, I had many other experiences in Union Square. One of the experiences is when I received free tulips as a commemoration of Women’s Day. On March 9, the city held an event to distribute free tulips in the square in front of Union Square Macy's to celebrate Women's Day. Me and my friends had to wait about three hours to get the tulips, but it was a fun experience. Also, the tulips were so beautiful that my room became vibrant and cute after placing them! For dining, I would like to recommend Super Duper Burgers. You can find Super Duper anywhere in Union Square as they have a lot of stores there. My favorite burger is the one with a sunny side-up egg and special sauce in it. Also, their garlic fries are delicious!
Besides the brands I mentioned, there are so many different stores, so I recommend stopping by one each time you go to Union Square. For example, when you are planning to go to Chinatown, have a short shopping time in Union Square. When going to a famous restaurant in Union Square, stop by Nike before going back home. This will make you feel less tired since shopping all day consumes a lot of energy.
One Day Trip to Japan in San Francisco
I think Japantown is a must-go place for those who like cute stuff, anime, and Japanese food. As a person who likes all of them, Japantown was a very exciting place to visit! First, in the malls in Japantown, there are tons of cute stores selling cute stationery, toys, and EVERYTHING. Time passed so fast that I didn’t know I was looking around for that long. For those who like anime and comic books, I recommend going to “Kinokuniya San Francisco'' as they have a variety of comic books in both Japanese and English. They also sell special editions of a comic book series and cute goods about anime. I got two comic books in English there as a souvenir!
Next, I want to introduce this udon place called “Udon Mugizo” to everyone. In my personal opinion, even though I’ve traveled to Japan several times, this was the best Udon in my life! It is in the same building- “Japan Center Kinokuniya Building” -as the bookstore I mentioned above. We had to wait to get in the restaurant, but there are cute shops near the restaurant, so you can look around while waiting. I ordered Tempura Udon and my friend ordered Salmon Spinach Cream Sauce Udon. Both were amazing! I really loved the chewy noodles and crispy tempura. The creamy udon was also delicious.
Also, in the same building, there is a Korean instant photo booth! It is the most famous photobooth chain in Korea, so we couldn’t pass by! You can choose how many cuts you want to take and the color of the frame. It will be a fun experience if you’ve never tried Korean photobooth.
Go to Fillmore When Feeling Cool and Chic
Actually, my friend and I had no idea what to do in the Fillmore district. After visiting Japantown, we walked around the street and found this district. They also have cute shops that sell cute postcards, stickers, stationary, and many things. They were very different from the shops in Japantown, but they were so cute! What we liked was that there were a lot of niche perfume stores gathered nearby. As a perfume lover, I had a great time trying on different perfumes in different shops. We’ve been to Diptyque and Byredo, where we really enjoyed looking around and trying on perfume. Besides perfume shops, there are also lots of clothing stores. What I also liked about Fillmore is the chill atmosphere. The street was very quiet and calm, with cool stores around. Also, there is a gelato store called “Philmore Creamery '' which has delicious gelato. Grab a scoop of gelato and hang around in cool and chic Fillmore Street!
For today’s blog, I summarized the places I enjoyed shopping in San Francisco. Before coming to SF State, I didn’t expect there would be these cool places here. However, it turned out to be a perfect place for shopaholics! I hope this blog will be helpful for other shopaholics in SF State. Thank you so much for reading my blog. See you next time!
